Her Boyfriend Wants his Best Friend (Female) to Stay Over & Share his Bed.

One woman’s desire to determine whether or not she’s unnecessarily taking issue with her boyfriend’s plans while she’s out of town has garnered national attention with thousands weighing in on the dilemma.
The 27-year-old woman and her boyfriend, 28, currently live together. With upcoming plans to leave town for a friend’s bachelorette party, her boyfriend informs her that his best friend will be in town while she is gone and that she is staying over. Seemingly, that in itself did not cause contention, but conflict began when her boyfriend also mentioned that without an air mattress or other suitable option, his best friend would also be crashing in his bed. This she said, was too much.
She took to Reddit 5 days ago for some feedback as to whether she was being unreasonable. She explained that although she knows they are friends, he admitted that they did have a short fling in college. The woman also expressed displeasure over the frequency of late night video chats between them, and captions on old photos that made her uneasy.

According to her post, she expressed that their bed should be only for them, and even offered to buy a new air mattress, or even chip in for a hotel. His response to these offers was that it would be “insulting to her” and that she was “making it āweirdā because theyāre just mates.”
Her post instantly grabbed the attention of many and responses poured in. Nearly all comments shared the theory that the boyfriend had plans to cheat and that the timing of the friend visiting was suspicious. Many seemed shocked she was even okay with the friend staying at her house at all, while others suggested setting up nanny cams to catch him in the act. Another common theory was that the request in advance for his friend to share his bed was for the sake of excusing any evidence (stray hair or clothing) that she may have discovered later.
The woman ends her story by asking for feedback, wanting to make sure she’s not overreacting before standing a stand- even if that means the matter escalating into a massive disagreement.
