VERIZON STATEMENT UPDATE 9:00pm – Today, we let many of our customers down and for that, we are truly sorry. They expect more from us.
We are working non-stop and making progress. Our teams will continue to work through the night until service is restored for all impacted customers.
We will make this right – for any customer affected, we will provide account credits and share updates soon.
Verizon’s outage map is starting to look a lot like their coverage map, according to over 180,000 users (and counting) now reporting phones and even home internet services being down.
We’ve also seen reports that AT&T and T-Mobile are affected, but those complaints also seem to be related to Verizon tower outages. Reps have confirmed that those networks do indeed remain stable.
Other Recent Verizon Outages
While some outlets are reporting this last happening in late 2024, Verizon actually last had a major outage on August 30th, 2025, with over 60,000 users affected, with a heavy concentration in Florida. That S.O.S. outage lasted over 12 hours, from 11:30am – 10:30pm, according to most reports on downdetector.com. Numerous customers also took to social media then to report the issue and express their frustration. Some found humor in the situation, such as this Verizon Customer (shown below) who created their own outage map and narrated the situation.
Latest Update On When Verizon Service Will Be Restored
This time, after more than 3 hours with no update from Verizon or timeline as to when users can expect service to be restored, they just posted an update minutes ago via X stating, “Verizon’s team is on the ground actively working to fix today’s service issue that is impacting some customers. We know this is a huge inconvenience, and our top priority is to get you back online and connected as fast as possible. We appreciate your patience while we work to resolve this issue.”
What they did NOT provide in this statement, is an update on when they expect service to return to normal. However, with nationwide news attention, the pressure is on for them to provide an ETA.
