Police say cash and 81 slot machines were seized during search of Paradise Arcade

SARASOTA, Fla. ā Two women have been arrested in connection with an alleged illegal gambling operation, according to the Sarasota County Sheriffās Office.
Search Warrant and Arrests
Authorities identified the suspects as Kelly A. Mallia, 48, and Valerie A. Mallia, 62, both of Venice. Valerie Mallia is listed as an active real estate agent with Coldwell Banker. The women were taken into custody on December 16th at the Paradise Arcade, located at 6030 N. Lockwood Ridge Road.
S.C.S.O. says that earlier this year, a cease-and-desist letter was already issued to the arcade.
Deputies, working alongside agents from the Florida Gaming Control Commission, executed a search warrant at the business as part of the investigation.
Slot Machines and Cash Seized
During the search, investigators discovered 81 illegal slot machines inside the arcade. The Florida Gaming Control Commission also assisted in the shutdown with their agents seizing the machines along with the cash found inside them.
