A body was found that is believed to be Abhigyan Patel, the missing 20-year-old swimmer who was last seen around 7pm on Sunday, August 31st.

A body was found that is believed to be Abhigyan Patel, the missing 20-year-old swimmer who was last seen around 7pm on Sunday, August 31st. Patel was swimming about 100 yards off Bean Point with another man when they appeared to be in need of assistance. The other man was recused while Patel was carried further out.

The search has been underway since, with and a body being recovered Monday afternoon- believed to be Abhigyan Patel. The Manatee County Sheriff’s office has stated they will provide updates as the process of identification is complete.
